The Security Door Saga:

Now, about that 10-foot security door—designed to keep the creepers out (unless they have a key). The door frame, crafted from angle iron and filled with expanded metal, had its own drama. Picture this: mid-weld, the frame warped into something resembling a rainbow. But with a bit of ingenuity (and some help from my best friend, ChatGPT), we reinforced and flattened it into a door that’s now as sturdy as it is imposing.

Material Mayhem:

The metal, courtesy of Barber’s Metal, was the dirtiest, nastiest metal I’ve ever worked with. Each resurfacing attempt turned the shop into a dust storm. But in the end, the rebar steps proved to be a brilliant choice—solid, heavy, and incredibly affordable at under $160 for 18 steps.

Despite the challenges, this project was a triumph. Utilizing the space in my shop, I navigated the size and weight complications to deliver a ladder that’s not just functional but fantastic.
