Monster Ramps 2.0: Customized to Tame the Beast AND the Tires!

Published On: November 18, 2024By

Monster Ramps are great—until they’re not. One of my recent clients had ramps that were as tough as they come but couldn’t quite do the job. Why? Some of their equipment kept getting stuck between the giant gaps, making loading onto the trailer a nightmare.

That’s when the call came in. Not an actual Bat-Signal (I don’t think Springville allows those), but something equally majestic: a welding spark shining bright in the night sky. Or maybe it was a star—I’ll let you decide. Either way, the message was clear: these ramps needed rescuing, and I was the hero for the job.

The Problem: Ramps That Stop Tires in Their Tracks

Imagine trying to load your equipment, only to have the tires fall into cavernous gaps between the ramp bars. Not only is it frustrating, but it’s also a recipe for wasted time and sore muscles. These Monster Ramps had the strength but were missing the finesse to get the job done.

The Solution: A Hero’s Custom Touch

Enter me, the hero with a welding torch (and a big mug of coffee). Here’s how I turned those monster gaps into smooth sailing for my client’s equipment:

  • Gap-Filling Attachments: Using 2″ angle irons, I crafted custom add-ons that locked securely into multiple places on the existing ramps. These bad boys transformed the uneven surface into a seamless path for tires of all sizes.
  • Built for Battle: Like the ramps themselves, the attachments were built to handle heavy loads without breaking a sweat (or a weld).
  • Removable and Versatile: Need the gaps for other uses later? These attachments come off just as easily as they go on.

The result? A smooth and sturdy ramp that allowed equipment to climb onto the trailer with ease—and without getting stuck.

The Garage Chronicles

Now, let me tell you about the real challenge here: building 11-12 foot long ramps in my old two-car garage. Have you ever tried to wrestle steel beams in a space better suited for a pair of mid-size sedans? It’s a lot like playing Tetris—if the pieces were sharp, heavy, and refused to cooperate.

Thankfully, those days are behind me because I’ve moved into my spacious 3,000 sq. ft. secret hero’s lair in Springville, Utah. With enough room to stretch out, build bigger, and dream even bigger, I’m ready to take on whatever custom project you can throw my way.

The Results: Happy Tires, Happier Client

When my client saw the finished product, they were thrilled. The ramps worked like a charm, their equipment glided smoothly onto the trailer, and everyone lived happily ever after. Okay, maybe that’s dramatic—but you get the idea.
